Curriculum

LIFTOFF teams with local, regional, and national partners to bring high quality curriculum resources and professional development to afterschool programs. Afterschool professionals can successfully implement STEM learning experiences with STEM curriculum that is designed specifically for youth programs. LIFTOFF is currently creating a menu of curriculum options for which LIFTOFF can provide added support and coordination.

Design It/Explore It (NPASS2)

Age Range : 8-12

Training and ongoing technical support available

Description:

  • Engineering activities that challenge youth to build and refine working models of small machines and toys over a period of 2-6 weeks
  • 14 different curricula books that provide safe, inexpensive, and engaging opportunities
  • Field tested, quality science activities designed for out of school environments
  • Experiential foundation for the development of concepts aligned with national standards that are addressed in formal science education.

SciGirls

Age Range : 8-13

Description:

  • 0ver 20 - hour and a half long STEM activities for coed groups
  • Each activity tied to an engaging video
  • Bilingual options available

Age Range : 8-13

  • Standard-based math activity program that is informal and fun
  • Built-in literacy, science, and career components

  • Great for all learning styles

ICT4me

  • Afterschool and summer youth-based curriculum for middle school girls to develop information technology (IT) fluency, interest in mathematics, and knowledge of IT careers.
  • Increase middle school girls' interest in IT and pursuing IT careers.
